December 28, 2022
Box Labs and MAPflow are prioritizing the development of a newly established partnership to simplify pharmacists’ workflows for minor ailments scope expansion in Ontario.
The approach will integrate Box Labs’ simple, efficient, and powerful cloud-based pharmacy suite with MAPflow’s digital, web-based clinical decision-making and implementation support tool. The strategic partnership means pharmacists can easily share data between the two tools and access reliable, comprehensive support for the new minor ailments’ workflow.
Effective January 1, 2023, pharmacists in Ontario can assess and prescribe for thirteen minor health ailments. These ailments are conditions that patients can manage with self-care strategies and minimal treatment. The ailments are typically short-term, where lab results aren't usually required and have a low risk of the treatment masking any underlying conditions.
This expanded scope for pharmacists is highly beneficial because it provides additional care pathways for patients, facilitates enhanced access to healthcare directly within the community and reduces emergency and urgent care visits.
“Box Labs is thrilled to team up with MAPflow, to bring you a comprehensive cloud solution that includes scheduling, virtual appointments, and direct billing to public plans,” notes Michael Demian, CEO, Box Labs. “This will allow pharmacists to conduct assessments efficiently and seamlessly, without the need for redundant data entry. We are confident that this partnership will greatly improve the experience for our clients.” To learn more about Box Labs, please visit boxlabs.ca.
